This trick works the same way as giving a promise works.
Matthew Stibbe from BadLanguage blog
recommends to boast widely about your new early-birdiness:
It makes feel good to tell people ‘oh I get up at 6am’. Also, my friend Stuart
says ‘we are the stories we tell about ourselves.’ If I describe myself as a punctual,
early-rising, efficiency robot then maybe that’s what I’ll become (when I’m not a
bohemain, enterpreneurial writer genius ).
Once you succeed with waking up early – tell your friends and parents about it,
write about it on your blog, put a calendar
on the wall in your room – do all you can to spread the news around. You may even respond to some
emails early in the morning to make people wonder what made you wake up at this time. They’ll ask you,
rest assured. It's up to you what explanation you are going to come up with, but if you want to
be known as a goal-oriented, productive, efficient, serious person,
this is your chance not only to let people know about it, but actually become such a person!
Sweet dreams and easy wake ups to you!
