Waking up early is an ultimate lifehack to create time for what matters most

Tip #5: Take a Nap in the Afternoon

If you struggle to wake up early in the morning, chances are your body doesn’t get enough sleep. Try taking a nap for 20–30 minutes during the day, and it will help reduce stress and make you feel refreshed.

Now, I know this tip will not work for everyone—some of us work from 9 to 5, and even if you are working from home, some people just can’t fall asleep quickly enough during the daytime. But give it a try and watch your body’s reaction. Studies show that 20 minutes of an afternoon nap gives more rest to the body than 20 minutes of sleep in the morning. Use this powerful, refreshing tool to stay energized through the end of the day.

The best time to take a nap is midday; otherwise, you risk shifting your sleeping pattern. Understanding how sleep cycles work can help you time your naps perfectly. It’s recommended that you sleep for no more than 30 minutes, or you may feel drowsy after waking up. Use an alarm clock to make sure your afternoon 30-minute nap does not turn into a few hours of sleep. Once you get accustomed to sleeping during the daytime, you may feel that you need less sleep at night, and getting up early will become much easier!
